Founder's Corner
Built so store owners get their evenings back.
StoreSutra is made by Vertex Summit in Himachal Pradesh. It began with one question from our founder, Vikas Kumar: why does a store owner still need ten phone calls and a spreadsheet to know how the day went?
An owner's time is the most expensive thing in the shop. Software should give it back, not take more of it.
Our mission
Give every owner-run store the visibility and control of a large chain, without the complexity and cost of an ERP.
In practice that means saving owners hours every week: every report from every store, brought together in one dashboard, with the numbers already checked.
Our vision
Every store you own: stock, staff, money and customers, all on one thread, in one app.
A future where a family-run pharmacy or kirana in a small town runs with the same clarity as the biggest chain, and nobody at the counter has to wait for someone else to find an answer.
A note from the founder
Why we started with the owner's day.
Before a single screen was designed, we spent evenings at the counter. This is what we saw.
Spend an evening with a shop owner who runs a few stores and you'll see the same thing everywhere. The shutter comes down, and the second shift begins: calling each store for the day's sale, adding it up in a notebook or a spreadsheet, wondering which batch is about to expire, and never quite knowing the real profit after salaries and rent.
None of this is a lack of effort. The information exists; it's just scattered across registers, phones and people. So the first thing we built was not a feature. It was a single place where every report from every store comes together, and where the numbers are checked before anyone sees them.
Then we asked a harder question: what if nobody at the store had to wait for someone else to get an answer? That is why we built Chaukas. A counter assistant can ask where a medicine is kept. A manager can ask what expires this month. An owner can ask why one store fell behind. Each gets an answer straight away, with the working shown, and only within what their role should see.
We are building StoreSutra with our first pilot stores, one honest number at a time. If you run stores and this sounds like your evenings, we would love to hear from you.

In the founder's words
Thoughts that shape the product.
The ideas Vikas comes back to in every product meeting, and the reason StoreSutra looks and behaves the way it does.
“A store owner shouldn't need ten phone calls to find out how the day went.”
“The best assistant is the one you never have to wait for. Chaukas exists so nobody at the store has to ask someone else for an answer.”
“Every number we show must show its working. We will never sell a guess.”
“If a shopkeeper can't understand it in three seconds at the counter, it isn't a feature yet.”
“Expired medicine on a shelf isn't only a stock problem. It's a promise to a customer that's about to be broken.”
“Large chains have had this kind of visibility for years. Every family-run store deserves it too.”
“We want to be the owner's partner, not their boss. Their decisions, our data.”
“Software should catch the mistake before it costs money, and then help fix it, never blame the person.”
What we hold ourselves to
Four principles behind every screen.
Every feature is tested against these four before it ships. If it fails one, it waits.
Trust
Every number shows its working: the period, the formula and the report it came from.
Simplicity
Three seconds at the counter. If it needs a training session, we haven't finished designing it.
Vigilance
Expiry, theft and mistakes are seen early, before they cost money.
Partnership
We work for the owner. The decisions stay theirs; we bring the data.
Help us build it with you.
We're working closely with our first pilot stores. Tell us how you run yours, and we'll set up StoreSutra with you.
